Default man-woman in turkey

how do turks marry? is this a silly question? do they need parents' permission? i know in past it was arranged by parents.
what age in average turks marry? do they first to graduate then get a better chance to work? do parents support at the beginning? if they do, then what do they support? apartment? car? or just cutlery?
am i asking stupid questions?
do women have chance to marry again if they r divorced?
is innocence (women) still important?
i know in chechnya e.g. after a divorce male kids stay with a father and female with a mother. in some central asia countries including kazakstan if a woman doesnt give a birrth to a son she may expect divorce, thus many women were left with their daughters having no chance to marry again.
please, tell me how it looks in turkey?
sometimes i read reports on human rights given in our daylies, mostly i heard that women rights r ignored or not respected at all.
tell me please.

I guess you either asked too many questions at once or you're asking people to generalize about something which is impossible to generalize about

Some do while some don't. I think all around the world marriages used to be arranged by families and all around the world people feel better knowing their parents accept their partners.

Hm..most of my friends say they're not planning anything till they graduate from a university and get a job. but I know a number of people who are about 30 and have no intention to get married yet.

do you mean virginity? If so then I guess that is is more important than in Poland, but it is an individual matter all in all.

Again, I think it differs all through Turkey. What i heard was that in the western part the situation is much better than in the eastern one. However, I am not an expert on Turkish social issues. I have heard of cases when men batter women (wives, sisters) and are not scorned for it by their families, let alone prosecuted. On the other hand, women can divorce their husbands freely, make their own living or raise children on their own.

I bet Turkish people could shed more light on it...

In my opinion, these are not inappropriate questions but, rather, reflect a natural curiosity concerning a sister nation with a similar, albeit different culture.

Not being a native, I will leave it to others to address such questions but, purely as an observer, my impression is that Turkey, being a secular democracy, is somewhat more liberal and western in its values than other, more orthodox, nations sharing similar Islamic roots and traditiions.

Just try telling any red-blooded Turk that his raki is forbidden by the Kuran!
