Question Başka bir KPDS sorusu

93. If you ask me, they seem to ____ the takeover for
quite some time now.
A) have to contemplate
B) contemplate
C) have been contemplating
D) be contemplated
E) have been contemplated

cevap c şıkkı,

Fakat

neden c şıkkı. "have been complating" ile "now" sözcükleri nasıl bir arada bulunuyor.

"have been complating" PAST PERFECT CONTINUOUS ve bu kalıp geçmişte bir eylemden önce başka bir eylemin süreklilik içerisinde oldu ğunu vurgular. ve birde geçmişteki bir eyleme yakın zamanlı fakat ondan daha önce olan bağlantısız bir eylemin sürekliliğini vurgulamak için de kulanılır.

soruda geçen "quite some time now" ilginç bir cümle zaten. ben böyle bir cümleyi ilk defa görüyorum. "quite", "some time" ve "now" yan yana aynı cümlede kullanılmış üstelik cümle PAST PERFECT CONTINUOUS yapıda başlıyor.

yardımcı olursanız sevinirim.

The verb is "to seem", not "to have been contemplating".

Ok, I know the werb is "to seem", and not "to have been contemplating",

but the phrase "quite some time now" is not used often. Firt time I saw a phrase like that.

so please can you translate it to Turkish "If you ask me, they seem to have been contemplating the takeover for quite some time now."

'have been contemplating'', uzerinde dusunulmeye bir sure once baslanmıs ve hala dusunuluyor.

Bana sorarsan, ele gecirme eylemini bir suredir planlıyorlar, simdilerde.

Buradaki ''now'', cumlenin zaman yapısıyla ilgisiz. ''For some time'', cumlenin belkemigi, sona gelen ''now'' ise ''simdilerde'' manasında.
